Only Taiwanese Renewable Energy Company on the List, Showcasing Resilience and Growth on the Global Stage
HD Renewable Energy has earned a place on Forbes Asia’s 2025 Best Under A Billion list, standing out from more than 19,000 publicly traded companies across the Asia-Pacific region. This year, 25 Taiwanese companies were recognized, with HDRE proudly representing the renewable energy sector’s sole Taiwanese entry—a milestone that shines an international spotlight on Taiwan’s green energy capabilities and potential.
Despite forecasts from the IMF pointing to slower economic growth in Asia-Pacific, Forbes selected 200 companies with annual revenues between US$10 million and US$1 billion that excelled in revenue growth, profitability, and market value. Beyond financial metrics, the evaluation also considered corporate governance and sustainability practices, making this recognition both highly competitive and deeply meaningful.
In 2024, HDRE delivered record-breaking results through strategic expansion and innovation:
- Annual revenue surpassed NT$10 billion ($310 million), demonstrating strong growth momentum
- Became the first energy company listed on TWSE’s Innovation Board, and successfully transferred to the Main Board within just one month of applying
- Added to the MSCI Global Small Cap Index ahead of the transfer, signaling strong confidence from global investors
- Japan: First Taiwanese company to win projects in Japan’s Long-Term Decarbonization Power Source Market (LTDA) for energy storage system capacity; awarded government-backed 20-year subsidies for two consecutive years, with total awarded capacity reaching 400MW
- Australia: Formed the joint venture ZEBRE with local partner ZEN Energy, targeting up to 2GW of renewable energy and storage projects
Since its founding, HDRE has taken Taiwan as its launchpad, combining solar, storage, and smart energy technologies to enter liberated energy markets in Japan, Australia, and across the Asia-Pacific.
Our inclusion in Forbes’ list is not only a celebration of what we’ve achieved—it’s a commitment to keep pushing boundaries. We will continue to drive the energy transition with innovation, expertise, and global partnerships, working hand-in-hand with our partners toward a net-zero future.
