Expanding Health Access for Remote Communities
目錄
Healthcare should never be defined by distance.
Together with the Digital Humanitarian Association, HDRE launched the Remote Health Promotion Program to support elderly residents in remote townships in Chiayi and Taitung, where access to medical care is often limited.
Through real-time online classes, supported by local caregivers, seniors receive guidance from certified medical professionals on chronic disease prevention, nutrition, cognitive health, mobility training, and emotional well-being.
In total, the program delivered 158 health sessions, engaged 18+ medical experts, reached 30,473 participants, and generated a remarkable SROI of 1:8.07—demonstrating how a single thoughtful initiative can grow into meaningful social value.
More importantly, participants gained confidence, autonomy, and the ability to manage their own health—reducing emergency visits, lowering chronic illness risks, and easing the burden on families.
This program shows that even with limited resources, a resilient and replicable community health model can be built—one that truly strengthens healthcare support in remote areas.
