RE100 and Net-Zero Commitment
Under the global vision of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, HDRE has actively implemented concrete actions. In 2025, HDRE will be the first to achieve net-zero carbon emissions at its headquarters. Other office locations will report a combined total of 287.4523 metric tons of CO₂e in the same year, representing a 14.12% reduction compared with 2024. These results are driven by the introduction of renewable energy—such as transferring green electricity from self-owned projects and supplying green energy to the Taipei and Taichung offices—as well as upgrades to energy-efficient equipment, including replacing high-consumption devices and implementing LED systems and smart meters.
Looking ahead, HDRE has established a three-phase roadmap:
- Mid-term Goal: Achieve net-zero carbon emissions at 40% of Taiwan office locations by 2030.
- Long-term Goal: Achieve 100% net-zero carbon emissions at Taiwan office locations by 2035.
- Final Goal: Achieve full net-zero emissions across all corporate operational sites—including offices and facilities—before 2050.
By the end of 2024, a series of carbon-reduction actions resulted in a 24.53% decrease in revenue carbon intensity for Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions. These achievements include collaborating with Uber Green to promote low-carbon commuting, strongly encouraging the use of public transportation, expanding the adoption and management of electric vehicles, and promoting everyday sustainability measures such as using reusable tableware and enhancing waste sorting and recycling.
Since 2022, HDRE has completed greenhouse gas inventories for its office locations and updated them in 2024, enabling data-driven carbon management and strategic planning. We drive internal energy-saving and carbon-reduction actions through three key focuses:
- Replacing outdated, high-consumption equipment
- Embedding environmentally friendly habits in daily routines
- Promoting waste reduction, energy saving, and circular reuse
Each department sets practical and actionable targets to ensure sustainability policies are embedded in daily operations.
In terms of culture and education, HDRE incorporates environmental sustainability into its employee training framework, setting minimum required learning hours and encouraging staff to practice green living and internalize sustainable awareness. At the same time, HDRE prioritizes environmentally friendly products and services and continues allocating resources to conservation initiatives to prevent potential ecological impact at the source. In 2024, HDRE recorded no major legal violations, maintaining a strong record of corporate governance.
For HDRE, sustainability is not a slogan but a principle integrated into every aspect of corporate operations. We believe that every carbon-reduction decision contributes to a positive impact on the environment and future generations. Moving forward, we will continue advancing innovative technologies, meaningful actions, and a steadfast commitment to lead Taiwan toward a truly net-zero future.
